Of course, being pregnant is exciting! But no one ever told me about the not-so-glamorous side of being pregnant. I am sorry if this is too graphic for some of you, but I just want any other soon-to-be expecting ladies to be aware of some things that may come.
Especially so you can warn your husbands.
1. Morning sickness: This is false advertising. "Morning sickness" does not only come in the morning, but can last all day. My husband thought I was making this up.
2. Gas: I don't want to go into too much detail so, let's leave it at.. It's the worst.
3. Swamp mouth/breath: I had begun to notice that my mouth was tasting really gross all of the time and nothing would help. Not brushing my teeth or over-using mouth wash. Gum helps a little. I found out that this was a symptom of pregnancy because of the over production of saliva. YUM!
4. Mood swings: This one wasn't quite a surprise, but I didn't know how extreme it would be. The first trimester literally had me happy for one second and completely out-raged the next...over the silliest things. Mike recognized that it was usually when my blood sugar was low from not eating. "What to Expect When You're Expecting" did warn me about this, but I didn't think it would be so terrible. Eating small meals/snacks through out the day really helps to keep me level-headed.
5. Constipation: This one I was completely unaware of until I read "WTEWYE". But being pregnant slows down your digestive system and that means longer bathroom breaks.
Well, that's all for now. I am sure that I will come across more not-so-glamorous things that come along with being pregnant. But it's all worth it!
And for baby, you better be darn cute, because you are taking all the cuteness right out of me!

Food cravings/aversions? Not craving anything, but the thought of mushrooms and spinach makes me queasy.
Miss anything? COFFEE.
Have you started to show? No, just bloated at the end of the day.
Happy or Moody? Starting to be a happier person. YAY!
Best Moment this week? Buying two onsies for baby

9 Weeks
Although I am now a little more than 10 weeks along, here are some pictures that we took at 9 weeks to start capturing the growth of this little babe!
How far along? 9 weeks in the pictures, but currently 10 weeks
Total weight gain?-1 pound (120 to 119) I also think my scale is wrong.
Morning sickness? I have had nausea on and off for the whole first trimester. Thankfully, I have not puked. I hate puking. I have also had terrible headaches to go along with the nausea.
Maternity clothes? Nope, but I have been bloated like crazy. Some days my smaller pants are uncomfortable.
Stretch marks? NO!
Sleep? Not the greatest. I have been peeing a few times each night & have had heartburn a lot. Oh, and I have been having nightmares. Not fun.
Food cravings/aversions? Not really having any cravings. I cannot eat chicken (unless it's in chicken nugget form), spinach or mushrooms.
Miss anything? I miss having ENERGY. I'm so lame lately. I don't want to do ANYTHING.
Have you started to show? Nope. Unless you count the "food baby" at the end of the day, cause I definitely look pregnant then.
Happy or Moody? Unfortunately for my hubby, MOOOOODY. With a capital M.
Best Moment this week? For valentine's day, Mike painted a canvas for the baby's room and gave it to me. This was completely unexpected and unlike him. Melted my heart.
Looking forward to anything? Looking ahead to the second trimester, where I hear women come back from the crazies of the first trimester.

Little Baby Hamme
Little Baby Hamme: Due September 2013
We found out I was pregnant the morning of December 30th while we were visiting my family in Delaware. Mike and I both couldn't believe it and were mostly in shock for a few minutes. Both of my parents cried with joy of the news. We were able to Skype with Mike's family that morning and tell them the good news. We spent that afternoon Face-Timing and calling family and close friends, sharing the news of Little Baby Hamme. Needless to say, it was a great day.
