Seven months PP and I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
My intentions with these posts are not to brag, but are for anyone who is looking to get a realistic idea on how long it takes to lose the weight after having a baby. I had every intention of being one of those awesome women who lose the weight 3 months after having their baby, but learning to be a mom and working part-time, accompanied by a lack of motivation, it just wasn't happening folks.
Since January (when the weight loss competition I entered, ended) I haven't done anything consistently. I have had great spurts of clean eating and episodes of working out, but I attribute my weight loss (4 mos-7 mos PP) mainly to breastfeeding. Gotta love it!
Even though I am back to my pre-preggo weight, my body is not as toned as it used to be. The belly area is holding on tight to that last bit of chub and my legs aren't quite as toned as they used to be.
But I am finally feeling like myself again, (I have honestly googled "postpartum depression" almost every month, thanks to these crazy hormones! but more on that later) and ready to focus on being a healthier person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Here's to seeing the scale go UP, due to fat loss and muscle gain!

Postpartum: 16 Weeks

This month was better. I worked out and ate pretty healthy over the holidays and didn't OVER-indulge. But I definitely ate dessert.

I totally let the holiday season get the best of me.

I am down 6 lbs since my last update at 6 weeks postpartum. Clean eating and P90X has been going really well these past two weeks. I missed two workouts (one day I just didn't have the time and the other I was just too exhausted) but was able to continue on without getting discouraged.
10-15 lbs to go!

Postpartum: 6 Weeks

Recovery: My body feels great, I haven't had any aches or pains since the first week. My bleeding finally stopped (I was starting to get worried). Everything looked great at my 6 week postpartum appointment and I got cleared to start exercising!
Baby Blues: GONE! They only lasted about a week. I am finally feeling like myself!

Current weight: 140 lbs

To lose the rest of the weight I gained during my pregnancy, (20 lbs to go!) Mike & I are doing P90X and watching what we eat. We have had a lot of success with the program in the past and are looking forward to getting back into it. AND I am entering a weight loss competition to keep me motivated!

Recovery:
I am recovering well after a 40+ hour labor, 3 hours of pushing, a
c-section (and an anxiety attack prior to the c-section {saving the
details for the birth story}) This past week I walked some and put my
feet up at night and the swelling in my legs is GONE. I can now wiggle
my toes!
Baby Blues:
I definitely feel something lingering here. I feel like crying for no
reason whatsoever. But we are combating the baby blues with truth, not
letting the lies creep in & a sweet playlist.
