December Happenings

I cannot believe December is half-way over with!

From December 9th-11th, we took 41 of our middle school friends to Goshen, VA for WyldLife Winter Weekend at Rockbridge YoungLife Camp! We had a large number of our friends stand up and proclaim that they wanted to live their life for Christ.

God is Good.
I am so thankful to be apart of this ministry.

When we returned home on the 11th Mike & I celebrated our 6 month anniversary, time is flying by. We celebrated by going to see the Festival of Lights, which I wanted to do last year but we never got a chance. And we picked up KFC for dinner on the way home.
It's the simple things in life.

I love this man. And all of that hair and mustache.

DayBook

Outside my window... It is cold and dark, street lamps light up the parking lot

I am thinking... I need to go to sleep, it’s late

I am thankful for... quality time spent with family & friends

From the learning rooms... I am learning to be patient

From the kitchen... Mike cooked dinner tonight! Chicken, rice and broccoli. I am so thankful, it was delicious

I am wearing... a tank top and yoga pants. (the weather cannot make up its mind…70 degrees or 30 degrees, 70 or 30)

I am creating... a home. I am learning what makes a house a home. A home doesn’t always need to be spotless (even though it drives me nuts if something is out of place!) I am discovering the middle ground between squeaky clean and a hot mess. AND I AM LEARNING TO BE OKAY WITH IT.

I am going... CRAZY! I feel like life is flying by. It’s December, so little time for all of my favorite holiday things. I will make time for them, I will make time for them...

In my mailbox this week... Bills, Bills Bills and more Bills. Oh and Sports Illustrated.

I am reading… nothing at the moment, just finished “What I Wish I’d Known Before We Got Married” by Gary Chapman. Great book. I started it before Mike & I got married but I sort of had no time for reading as the wedding approached. Now I have finished it and I am glad I read it. I recommend it to all couples thinking about marriage or are already married. (NEXT: Twilight series or something else?)

I am hoping... snow. If it is cold out, I demand that it snows. What’s the point of cold weather with no snow? Except that Starbucks has great wintertime drinks? (White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha..mmmmm)

I am hearing... the humming of the fan in the corner (because Mike cannot sleep without a light breeze…(yes it is December and we have a fan on while we sleep)

Around the house... the Christmas tree is up and decorated, lights are on the porch and the nativity scene is on display on the bookshelf (one of my favorites, thank you Aunt Kathy!)

One of my favorite things... Christmas music

A few plans for the rest of the (week… end) We have Wyld Life Club Saturday night and a leader appreciation Christmas Party on Sunday. I don’t want to look past the weekend just yet.

“ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)
